31) Line must be drawn through the point R, angle at pt R should be between 89 - 91 degrees.
32) Line must be drawn through W
33) 3
34) 8 x 8 = 64
20 x 8 = 160
6 x 6 = 36
64 + 160 +36 = 260 cm^2
35) CD and IJ or EF and IJ

Section C
36) Factors of 36 = 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9
Factors of 54 = 1, 2, 3, 6, 9
Common Factors = 1, 2, 3, 6, 9
Thus, answer is 6298

37a) 45 + 90 + 90 + 45 = 270
b) home

38) [ Draw Model]
300 + 300 + 630 = 1230
1230/3 = 410
410 + 1230 = 1640 ml

39) 1 unit -> 12
4 units -> 48
48 - 28 = 20
20/48 = 5/12

40) [draw model]
1 - 1/7 = 6/7
4 units -> 24
1 unit-> 6
7 units -> 6 x 7 = 42

41) 42 - 16 = 26
26 x 3 = 78
78 + 42 + 16 = 136

b) 42 + 16 = 58
136 - 58 = 78

42) 6 x 4 = 24
24 x 6 = 144
144 = 12 x 12 cm

43) 405 / 5 = 81
81 = 9 x 9
9 x 5 = 45 ( Length of rect Y)
9 x 3 = 27 ( Breadth of rect Y)
Area = 45 x 27
= 1215 cm^2

Section C

35a) Money at first = (27 x 8) + 9
= $225.00
35b) Boxes at sales = $225 / 6
~ 37
More boxes = 37 - 27
= 10

36) Duck Eggs on Friday = 166 - 78
= 88
Total eggs on Fri = 166 + 88
= 254
Eggs sold on Sat = 254/2
= 127
Total eggs sold = 254 + 127
= 381

37) Each set, 1 cup + 1 plate = $7 + ($7-3)
= $11
Total sets bought = $264/ $11
= 24
Amount more = $24 x $3
= $72

38) Daisies = 1/5 x 240

39) Draw Model, base unite 10. Yellow will take 4 units, purple will take 5, leaving only 1 unit for purple.
After drawing model, you will realise that
4 units -> 60
10 units -> 150

40) Total spent on crayons = $ $5.35 x 2
= $10. 70
Total spent on drawing books = $1.70 x 5

Amount Saved = ($10.70 + $8.50) - $16.99
= $2.21

41a) 19 05 - 13 35 = 5h 30mins
b) 21 00 - 19 05 = 1hr 55mins

42) List down all the factors for 54 & 102. Since it was given that W is a square, we must identify the common factor as the breadth of W = 6.
From this, we conclude that
Length of V = 102/6
= 17 cm
Breadth of V = 54/6
= 9 cm
Difference in Area = Area of V - Area of W
= (17 x 9 ) - ( 6 x 6 )
= 117 cm^2

Remarks:
  • Many of you could not finish the paper within the 1hr 45 mins. Although the timing was not followed strictly, it is still crucial to manage your time properly.
  • Do not be careless, read the question carefully and be sure to know what they are asking for. Highlight if need be.
  • If you are unsure where to start, list down the information given as working.
  • Ascending is from smallest to biggest, descending is from biggest to smallest.
